It was bound to happen with so much emphasis on twitter. Now you can have your psychological portrait of your twitter profile done up for you. You just enter your twitter username and TweetPsych will build a you psychological profile based on the content of your tweets.
Psychotherapy is sometimes called “the talking cure”. What you say and how you say it gives insight into who you are.
If you are what you talk about, then it stands to reason that you’re also what you write about. And that’s the idea behind TweetPsych, a Web site that analyzes your 1,000 latest Twitter updates and provides a psychological portrait.
Dan Zarrella, who describes himself as “a social media & viral marketing scientist”, explains in a blog post that TweetPsych runs the words in a subject’s Twitter feed through two psychological lexicons: the Regressive Imagery Dictionary and the Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count.
Expect the initial analysis to take a little while, but once it’s done, you get a table that shows categories in which your conversation goes beyond the average.
Go now and get your psychological portrait now at TweetPsych. And no, not going to post what my results were….lol.
