Finally, twitter is working on make some money! From what I gather, it will be small baby steps, but like a baby it will grow into a full fledge adult soon. Trick is, will the majority of twitters take to the ads or revolt? Time will tell, as twitter says they will keep track of the ads and how they are received.

Of course, first you do have to know that twitter was profitable last year from the deal they made with google and microsoft when it sold access to users’ updates for use in the search engines.

Twitter is launching a feature called Promoted Tweets, in which advertisers will pay to have their updates pushed to the top of search results. Co-founder Biz Stone explains it all in a FAQ posted to Twitter’s blog.
